त्वष्ट्रा हि जनितो यो वै वृत्रो नामैष दैत्यराट् । कथं तं घातयाम्येवं सततं पापभीरुणा । शक्रेणोक्तं निशम्याथ ब्रह्मा वाक्यमुवाच ह
tvaṣṭrā hi janito yo vai vṛtro nāmaiṣa daityarāṭ | kathaṃ taṃ ghātayāmyevaṃ satataṃ pāpabhīruṇā | śakreṇoktaṃ niśamyātha brahmā vākyamuvāca ha
ത്വഷ്ടാവിൽ നിന്നു ജനിച്ച ഈ വൃത്രൻ ദൈത്യരാജാവാണ്. ഞാൻ എപ്പോഴും പാപഭീതിയുള്ളവൻ; അങ്ങനെ അവനെ എങ്ങനെ വധിക്കും? ശക്രന്റെ വാക്കുകൾ കേട്ട് ബ്രഹ്മാവ് മറുപടി പറഞ്ഞു।
