मां च उद्दिश्य भो इंद्र तद्भोगादेव संक्षयः । प्रायश्चितं हि हत्याया न दृष्टं स्मृतिकारिभिः
māṃ ca uddiśya bho iṃdra tadbhogādeva saṃkṣayaḥ | prāyaścitaṃ hi hatyāyā na dṛṣṭaṃ smṛtikāribhiḥ
“ഹേ ഇന്ദ്രാ, എന്നെ ഉദ്ദേശിച്ചുള്ളതിന്റെ ക്ഷയം അനുഭവഭോഗത്തിലൂടെയേ സംഭവിക്കൂ. ബ്രാഹ്മണഹത്യയുടെ പ്രായശ്ചിത്തം സ്മൃതികാരന്മാർ നിർദ്ദേശിച്ചിട്ടില്ല.”
