शिवेति द्व्यक्षरं नाम त्रायते महतो भयात् । तस्माच्छिवश्चिंत्यतां वै स्मर्यतां च द्विजोत्तमाः
śiveti dvyakṣaraṃ nāma trāyate mahato bhayāt | tasmācchivaściṃtyatāṃ vai smaryatāṃ ca dvijottamāḥ
‘ശിവ’ എന്ന ദ്വാക്ഷര നാമം മഹാഭയത്തിൽ നിന്ന് രക്ഷിക്കുന്നു. അതിനാൽ, ഹേ ദ്വിജോത്തമന്മാരേ, ശിവനെ ധ്യാനിക്കുകയും സ്മരിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുക।
