रुद्राक्षा ये शिवेनोक्तास्ताच्छृणुध्वं द्विजोत्तमाः । आरम्भैकमुखं तावद्याबद्वक्त्राणि षोडश । एतेषां द्वौ च विज्ञेयौ श्रेष्ठौ तारयितुं द्विजाः

rudrākṣā ye śivenoktāstācchṛṇudhvaṃ dvijottamāḥ | ārambhaikamukhaṃ tāvadyābadvaktrāṇi ṣoḍaśa | eteṣāṃ dvau ca vijñeyau śreṣṭhau tārayituṃ dvijāḥ

ഹേ ദ്വിജോത്തമന്മാരേ, ശിവൻ ഉപദേശിച്ച രുദ്രാക്ഷങ്ങളെ ശ്രവിക്കുവിൻ. ഏകമുഖത്തിൽ ആരംഭിച്ച് ഷോഡശമുഖം വരെ അവയുണ്ട്. അവയിൽ രണ്ടെണ്ണം മോക്ഷദായകമായി പരമശ്രേഷ്ഠമെന്നു അറിയുക, ഹേ ബ്രാഹ്മണന്മാരേ.
