udāro hi mahādevo devānāṃ patiriśvaraḥ | yena sarvaṃ pradattaṃ hi tasmātsarva iti smṛtaḥ
Lomaśa
Tirtha: Kedāra (Kedāranātha)
Type: kshetra
Scene: Mahādeva envisioned as sovereign of devas, seated in serene majesty; devas offering flowers; a cosmic panorama suggesting ‘all is bestowed by Him’.
Śiva’s lordship is expressed as generosity: all gifts—material and spiritual—ultimately flow from the Divine.
The verse is doctrinal within Kedārakhaṇḍa, supporting the Kedāra Śaiva māhātmya that follows.
No specific rite is prescribed; the verse explains a theological epithet of Śiva (‘Sarva’).
