स्तंभतीर्थमिति ख्यातं स्तम्भो गर्वः कृतो यतः । स्तंभस्य हि फलं सद्यो ब्रह्मापि प्राप किं परः
staṃbhatīrthamiti khyātaṃ stambho garvaḥ kṛto yataḥ | staṃbhasya hi phalaṃ sadyo brahmāpi prāpa kiṃ paraḥ
ഇത് ‘സ്തംഭതീർത്ഥം’ എന്നു പ്രസിദ്ധമാകും; കാരണം അവിടെ ദർപ്പത്തെ ‘സ്തംഭം’ ആക്കി നിർത്തി. ദർപ്പഫലം ഉടൻ തന്നെ—ബ്രഹ്മാവിനും ലഭിച്ചെങ്കിൽ, മറ്റുള്ളവർക്ക് എന്തു പറയണം.
