ततः सुतनुनामा स बालोऽबालोऽभ्युवाच माम् । मम मंदायते वाणी प्रश्नैः स्वल्पैस्तव द्विज । तथापि वच्मि मां यस्मान्निहीनं मन्यते भवान्
tataḥ sutanunāmā sa bālo'bālo'bhyuvāca mām | mama maṃdāyate vāṇī praśnaiḥ svalpaistava dvija | tathāpi vacmi māṃ yasmānnihīnaṃ manyate bhavān
അപ്പോൾ സുതനു എന്ന പേരുള്ള ആ ബാലൻ—പ്രായത്തിൽ ചെറുതായിരുന്നാലും ബാലസമനല്ല—എന്നോട് പറഞ്ഞു: “ഹേ ദ്വിജാ, നിന്റെ അല്പചോദ്യങ്ങൾ കൊണ്ട് എന്റെ വാണി മന്ദമാകുന്നു; എങ്കിലും നീ എന്നെ ന്യുനനെന്ന് കരുതുന്നതിനാൽ ഞാൻ പറയും।”
