न विद्यया केवलया तपसा वापि पात्रता । यत्र वृत्तिमिमे चोभे तद्वि पात्रं प्रचक्षते
na vidyayā kevalayā tapasā vāpi pātratā | yatra vṛttimime cobhe tadvi pātraṃ pracakṣate
വിദ്യ മാത്രം കൊണ്ടോ തപസ്സ് മാത്രം കൊണ്ടോ ദാനം സ്വീകരിക്കാനുള്ള പാത്രത ഉണ്ടാകുന്നില്ല. സദാചാരവും ഈ ഗുണങ്ങളും രണ്ടും ഒരുമിച്ച് ഉള്ളവനെയാണ് യഥാർത്ഥ പാത്രൻ എന്നു പറയുന്നു.
