Skanda Purana — Mahesvara Khanda, Shloka 18

साधूनां वर्णिनां राजा न शिरस्कं प्रदापयेत् । न प्रवातेधटं देयं नोष्णकाले हुताशनम्

sādhūnāṃ varṇināṃ rājā na śiraskaṃ pradāpayet | na pravātedhaṭaṃ deyaṃ noṣṇakāle hutāśanam

സദാചാരമുള്ള വർണിനുകൾക്കായി (ദീക്ഷിത ബ്രഹ്മചാരികൾ) രാജാവ് ‘ശിര’ ദാനം ചെയ്യിപ്പിക്കരുത്. കാറ്റുള്ള സ്ഥലത്ത് ‘ധട’ അർപ്പിക്കരുത്; അത്യുഷ്ണകാലത്ത് ഹോമവും ചെയ്യരുത്.
