वर्षाणां विंशतिर्याति धर्मकामार्थवर्जितः । आगन्तुकैर्भवैः पुंसां व्याधिशोकैरनेकधा
varṣāṇāṃ viṃśatiryāti dharmakāmārthavarjitaḥ | āgantukairbhavaiḥ puṃsāṃ vyādhiśokairanekadhā
ഇരുപത് വർഷങ്ങൾ ധർമ്മം, കാമം, അർത്ഥം എന്നിവയില്ലാതെ തന്നെ കടന്നുപോകുന്നു. പിന്നെ മനുഷ്യൻ പലവിധ അപ്രതീക്ഷിത അവസ്ഥകളാൽ—രോഗങ്ങളും ശോകങ്ങളും—കൂടുതൽ ക്ഷയിക്കുന്നു.
