ततश्चांडस्य शिरसो धारा नीरमयी शिवा । सर्वलोकान्समाप्लाव्य गंगा मेरावुपागता

tataścāṃḍasya śiraso dhārā nīramayī śivā | sarvalokānsamāplāvya gaṃgā merāvupāgatā

അനന്തരം ബ്രഹ്മാണ്ഡത്തിന്റെ ശിരോഭാഗത്തിൽ നിന്ന് ശിവാനുഗ്രഹപ്രസൂതമായ ജലമയ പുണ്യധാര ഉദ്ഭവിച്ചു. അത് സർവ്വലോകങ്ങളെയും പ്രളയിപ്പിച്ച് ഗംഗാരൂപത്തിൽ മേരുപർവ്വതത്തെ പ്രാപിച്ചു.
