അവൾ ‘കുമാരിക’ എന്ന നാമത്തിൽ പ്രസിദ്ധയായി; അവളുടെ നാമം കൊണ്ടുതന്നെ ഈ ഖണ്ഡം പ്രസ്താവിക്കപ്പെടുന്നു. ഈ കൗമാരികാഖണ്ഡം ധർമ്മ-അർത്ഥ-കാമ-മോക്ഷം എന്ന ചതുർവർഗ്ഗഫലം നൽകുന്നു.
