यातास्मि तपसश्चर्तुं कालीवाक्यात्तवातुलम् । रतिश्च तत्र मे नाभूत्ततः प्राप्ता तवांतिकम्
yātāsmi tapasaścartuṃ kālīvākyāttavātulam | ratiśca tatra me nābhūttataḥ prāptā tavāṃtikam
കാളിയുടെ വാക്കാൽ പ്രേരിതയായി ഞാൻ അതുലമായ തപസ്സു ചെയ്യാൻ പോയി. എന്നാൽ അവിടെ എനിക്ക് രതി (ആനന്ദം) ഉണ്ടായില്ല; അതിനാൽ ഞാൻ നിന്റെ സന്നിധിയിലേക്കു മടങ്ങിവന്നു.
