Skanda Purana — Mahesvara Khanda, Shloka 11

त्रैलोक्यदानवान्सर्वान्दग्धुं शक्तः क्षणादहम् । दुर्जस्तारकः किं तु मुक्त्वा सप्तदिनं शिशुम्

Transliteration

trailokyadānavānsarvāndagdhuṃ śaktaḥ kṣaṇādaham | durjastārakaḥ kiṃ tu muktvā saptadinaṃ śiśum

Translation

“ഞാൻ ക്ഷണത്തിൽ ത്രിലോകത്തിലെ എല്ലാ ദാനവരെയും ദഹിപ്പിക്കാൻ ശേഷിയുള്ളവൻ; എന്നാൽ ആ ദുര്ജയനായ താരകൻ—ഏഴ് ദിവസമുള്ള ശിശുവിനെ വിട്ടയച്ച ശേഷം—(ഒരു പ്രത്യേക നിയമത്തിൽ ബന്ധിതനാണ്).”
