तक्षकः कालकूटाख्यं बहुरूपेति नाम च । हालाहलं च कर्कोट एकाक्ष इति नाम च
takṣakaḥ kālakūṭākhyaṃ bahurūpeti nāma ca | hālāhalaṃ ca karkoṭa ekākṣa iti nāma ca
തക്ഷകന്റെ ലിംഗം ‘കാലകൂട’ എന്നു വിളിക്കപ്പെടുന്നു; അതിന്റെ നാമം ‘ബഹുരൂപ’ എന്നും. കർക്കോടന്റെ ലിംഗം ‘ഹാലാഹല’ എന്നു പ്രസിദ്ധം; അതിന്റെ നാമം ‘ഏകാക്ഷ’ എന്നും.
