Sūta (Lomaharṣaṇa) narrating (contextual attribution within Māheśvara-khaṇḍa)
Tirtha: Mahīnadī
Type: river
Listener: Indradyumna (king)
Scene: Pilgrims bathe in a radiant river while cosmic imagery hints at dissolution—darkened sky, swirling clouds—yet the river remains luminous and protective.
Tīrtha-snāna is portrayed as concentrated purification—simple contact with sacred waters can dissolve accumulated sin.
The river Mahīnadī (introduced in the prior verse) is glorified for its sin-destroying bath.
Snāna (bathing) in the sacred river is stated as sufficient to remove all sins.
