कूर्म उवाच । शांडिल्य इति विख्यातः पुराहमभवं द्विजः । बालभावे मया भूप क्रीडमानेन निर्मितम्
kūrma uvāca | śāṃḍilya iti vikhyātaḥ purāhamabhavaṃ dvijaḥ | bālabhāve mayā bhūpa krīḍamānena nirmitam
കൂർമൻ പറഞ്ഞു—പുരാതനകാലത്ത് ഞാൻ ‘ശാണ്ഡില്യ’ എന്ന പേരിൽ പ്രസിദ്ധനായ ദ്വിജ ബ്രാഹ്മണനായിരുന്നു. ഹേ രാജാവേ, ബാല്യത്തിൽ കളിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കെ ഞാൻ സ്വന്തം കൈകളാൽ എന്തോ നിർമ്മിച്ചു.
