उग्रश्रवा उवाच । श्रृणुध्वचत्यद्भुतपुण्यसत्कथं कुमारनाथस्य महाप्रभावम् । द्वैपायनो यन्मम चाह पूर्वं हर्षाबुरोमोद्गमचर्चितांगः
ugraśravā uvāca | śrṛṇudhvacatyadbhutapuṇyasatkathaṃ kumāranāthasya mahāprabhāvam | dvaipāyano yanmama cāha pūrvaṃ harṣāburomodgamacarcitāṃgaḥ
ഉഗ്രശ്രവാ (സൂതൻ) പറഞ്ഞു—കുമാരനാഥന്റെ മഹാപ്രഭാവം വിവരിക്കുന്ന ഈ അത്ഭുതവും പുണ്യവും സത്കഥയും കേൾക്കുവിൻ. മുമ്പ് ദ്വൈപായനൻ (വ്യാസൻ) ഇത് എനിക്കു പറഞ്ഞു; അപ്പോൾ എന്റെ ദേഹം ഹർഷരോമാഞ്ചത്താൽ അടയാളപ്പെട്ടിരുന്നു।
