उवाच सा पिता दाता तं प्रार्थय सुदुर्मते । पितृप्रदेया यत्कन्या श्रुतिरेषा सनातनी
uvāca sā pitā dātā taṃ prārthaya sudurmate | pitṛpradeyā yatkanyā śrutireṣā sanātanī
അവൾ പറഞ്ഞു—പിതാവാണ് ദാതാവ്; ഹേ സുദുർമതേ, ചെന്നു അവനോടു തന്നെ അപേക്ഷിക്ക. കന്യ പിതാവാൽ തന്നേ ദാനീയ—ഇത് ശ്രുതിയുടെ സനാതനവിധിയാണ്.
