देवदेव उवाच । महानंदो द्विजो नाम भविष्योत्र चतुर्भुज । अग्रवेदीसमाचारस्त्यक्ततीर्थप्रतिग्रहः

ദേവദേവൻ പറഞ്ഞു— ‘ഹേ ചതുര്ഭുജാ! ഭാവിയിൽ ഇവിടെ മഹാനന്ദൻ എന്ന പേരുള്ള ഒരു ദ്വിജൻ (ബ്രാഹ്മണൻ) ഉണ്ടാകും; അവൻ ശ്രേഷ്ഠ വൈദികാചാരം അനുസരിക്കും, തീർത്ഥബന്ധമായ ദാന-പ്രതിഗ്രഹം ഉപേക്ഷിച്ചവൻ ആയിരിക്കും.’
