राक्षस उवाच । अनुक्रोशोस्ति यदि ते भगवंस्तापसोत्तम । स्ववृत्तांतं तदा वच्मि शृणुष्वावहितः क्षणम्
rākṣasa uvāca | anukrośosti yadi te bhagavaṃstāpasottama | svavṛttāṃtaṃ tadā vacmi śṛṇuṣvāvahitaḥ kṣaṇam
രാക്ഷസൻ പറഞ്ഞു— ഭഗവൻ, തപസ്വികളിൽ ശ്രേഷ്ഠനേ! നിനക്കു കരുണയുണ്ടെങ്കിൽ ഞാൻ എന്റെ വൃത്താന്തം പറയും; ഒരു നിമിഷം ശ്രദ്ധയോടെ കേൾക്കുക.
