tayātha prārthitā gaurī garbhiṇyā bhaktitoṣitā | putraṃ dehi mahāmāye sākṣādviṣṇvaṃśasaṃbhavam

അപ്പോൾ ഗർഭിണിയായ അവൾ ഭക്തിയിൽ തൃപ്തയായ ഗൗരിയെ പ്രാർത്ഥിച്ചു—‘ഹേ മഹാമായേ! വിഷ്ണുവംശത്തിൽ ജനിച്ച സാക്ഷാൽ ഒരു പുത്രനെ എനിക്ക് ദയചെയ്യുക।’
