स्कंद उवाच । शृणुष्व मैत्रावरुणे पुराकल्पे रथंतरे । इतिहास इहासीद्यः पीठे विरजसंज्ञिते

സ്കന്ദൻ അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു—ഹേ മൈത്രാവരുണാ, ശ്രവിക്കൂ. പുരാകാലത്ത് രഥന്തര കല്പത്തിൽ, ഇവിടെ ‘വിരജ’ എന്നു പേരുള്ള പീഠത്തിൽ ഈ പുരാതന ഇതിഹാസം സംഭവിച്ചു.
