गजासुर उवाच । त्रिशूलपाणे देवेश जाने त्वां स्मरहारिणम् । तव हस्ते मम वधः श्रेयानेव पुरांतक

gajāsura uvāca | triśūlapāṇe deveśa jāne tvāṃ smarahāriṇam | tava haste mama vadhaḥ śreyāneva purāṃtaka

ഗജാസുരൻ പറഞ്ഞു—ഹേ ത്രിശൂലപാണി ദേവേശാ! ഞാൻ നിന്നെ സ്മരൻ (കാമൻ)നെ സംഹരിച്ചവനായി അറിയുന്നു. ഹേ പുരാന്തകാ! നിന്റെ കൈകൊണ്ട് എന്റെ വധം സംഭവിക്കുന്നത് എനിക്കു പരമ ശ്രേയസ്സാണ്।
