स्कंद उवाच । वृद्धादित्यस्य माहात्म्यं शृणु ते कथयाम्यहम् । यस्य श्रवणमात्रेण नरो नो दुष्कृतं भजेत्
skaṃda uvāca | vṛddhādityasya māhātmyaṃ śṛṇu te kathayāmyaham | yasya śravaṇamātreṇa naro no duṣkṛtaṃ bhajet
സ്കന്ദൻ അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു—വൃദ്ധാദിത്യന്റെ മഹാത്മ്യം കേൾക്കുക; ഞാൻ നിനക്കു വിവരിക്കുന്നു. ഇതു കേൾക്കുന്നതുമാത്രംകൊണ്ട് മനുഷ്യൻ പാപകർമ്മങ്ങളിൽ പതിക്കുകയില്ല.
