Skanda (deduced, Kāśīkhaṇḍa context)
Tirtha: Gaṅgā in Kāśī
Type: kshetra
Scene: A dark, allegorical scene: a hateful man gestures angrily toward sacred figures and Gaṅgā; behind him stand his followers; ahead yawns a terrifying naraka landscape, while Gaṅgā and the sacred figures remain luminous and unmoved.
Hatred toward sacred realities (the Gaṅgā and the revered teachers/deities addressing the dialogue) is condemned as a grave offense with severe karmic consequences.
The Gaṅgā, central to Kāśī’s tīrtha identity.
No ritual is prescribed; the verse warns against dveṣa (hatred) toward the Gaṅgā and the sacred authorities speaking.
