स्वाहांतः प्रणावादिश्च भवेद्विंशाक्षरो मनुः । पूजादानं जपो होमो ऽनेनैव मनुना स्मृतः
svāhāṃtaḥ praṇāvādiśca bhavedviṃśākṣaro manuḥ | pūjādānaṃ japo homo 'nenaiva manunā smṛtaḥ
പ്രണവത്തോടെ ആരംഭിച്ച് ‘സ്വാഹാ’യിൽ അവസാനിക്കുന്നതാകുന്നു ഇരുപത് അക്ഷരമുള്ള മന്ത്രം. പൂജ, ദാനം, ജപം, ഹോമം—ഇവയെല്ലാം ഈ മന്ത്രം കൊണ്ടുതന്നെ ചെയ്യണമെന്ന് സ്മൃതിയിൽ പറയുന്നു।
