इत्युक्त्वा विररामासौ शिवशर्मन्ध्रुवस्तदा । देवोपि भगवान्विष्णुस्तमुवाच प्रसन्नदृक्

ഇങ്ങനെ പറഞ്ഞ് ശിവസർമൻ എന്ന ധ്രുവൻ അപ്പോൾ മൗനമായി. തുടർന്ന് പ്രസന്നദൃഷ്ടിയോടെ ദേവാധിദേവൻ ഭഗവാൻ വിഷ്ണു അവനോട് അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു.
