चकाराभ्यधिकं स्नेहं न तथा पूर्वजेष्वथ । मनुस्तत्क्षांतवाञ्ज्येष्ठो भक्ष्यालंकारलालने
cakārābhyadhikaṃ snehaṃ na tathā pūrvajeṣvatha | manustatkṣāṃtavāñjyeṣṭho bhakṣyālaṃkāralālane
അവൾ കനിഷ്ഠന്മാരോടു അത്യധികം സ്നേഹം കാണിച്ചു; ജ്യേഷ്ഠന്മാരോടു അത്രയില്ല. ജ്യേഷ്ഠനായ മനു ക്ഷമാഭാവത്തോടെ അതു സഹിച്ചു—ഭക്ഷ്യങ്ങൾ, ആഭരണങ്ങൾ, സ്നേഹലാലനം എന്നിവയ്ക്കുള്ള ആഗ്രഹം ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നിട്ടും।
