धिग्धिगेतदधिकर्द्धि चेष्टितं चंक्रमेक्षणविलक्षितं यतः । वीक्षते क्षणमचारुचक्षुषा घातितेन विपदःपदेन च
dhigdhigetadadhikarddhi ceṣṭitaṃ caṃkramekṣaṇavilakṣitaṃ yataḥ | vīkṣate kṣaṇamacārucakṣuṣā ghātitena vipadaḥpadena ca
അതിസമൃദ്ധിക്കായുള്ള ഈ അശാന്ത പരിശ്രമത്തെയും, ഇങ്ങോട്ടും അങ്ങോട്ടും അലഞ്ഞു കണ്ണോടിക്കുന്ന വിചിത്രചേഷ്ടയെയും ധിക്ധിക്. കാരണം നിയന്ത്രണമില്ലാത്ത, ശോഭയില്ലാത്ത ദൃഷ്ടിയാൽ ക്ഷണമാത്രം നോക്കുന്നതും, അപദാപഥത്തിൽ വെച്ച ഒരു പടിയും—മനുഷ്യനെ ദുരിതത്തിലേക്ക് വീഴ്ത്തുന്നു.
