yata ārabhya rāmeṇa setubandho mahārṇave | taddhi puṇyatamaṃ kṣetraṃ phullagrāmābhidhaṃ puram
Sūta (Lomaharṣaṇa)
Tirtha: Phullagrāma
Type: kshetra
Listener: Munis
Scene: Rāma at the seashore, bow at his side, directing the beginning of the Setubandha; vānaras gather stones; the ocean vast; behind, the sacred settlement of Phullagrāma as the auspicious starting point.
Places touched by dharmic action—like Rāma’s Setu-building—become supremely holy and worthy of pilgrimage remembrance.
Phullagrāma is praised as a puṇyatama kṣetra because it is linked to Rāma’s beginning of Setu-bandha over the ocean.
None directly; the verse establishes the sanctity of the site through its Rāma-Setu association, typically motivating pilgrimage and worship.
