vepaṃte sarvapāpāni nāśo'smākaṃ bhavediti | garbhavāsādiduḥkhāni tāvadyāti naro bhuvi
Sūta
Tirtha: Sarvatīrtha
Type: kshetra
Listener: Brāhmaṇas (addressed in prior verse)
Scene: As the pilgrim nears the water, shadowy figures labeled as sins quake and scatter; behind them, a faint montage of womb and life-sufferings dissolves into light, indicating saṃsāra’s loosening grip.
Tīrtha-sevā is portrayed as a force that breaks the cycle of suffering rooted in sin and saṃsāra.
The context continues the praise of Sarvatīrtha, where sins are said to be destroyed.
Implied: proceed to the tīrtha for snāna; the verse highlights the purificatory effect that follows.
