īśvara uvāca | niḥśeṣaṃ brahmahatyā te śivatīrthe nimajjanāt
Īśvara (Śiva)
Tirtha: Śivatīrtha
Type: kshetra
Listener: Bhairava
Scene: Śiva (Īśvara) pronounces absolution: Bhairava, bearing a skull-bowl, stands at a sacred waterbody labeled Śivatīrtha; the water glows as the sin is washed away.
Śiva affirms that sincere immersion in a supremely sanctified tīrtha can fully dissolve even the heaviest karmic burden.
Śivatīrtha is directly glorified as the place where Brahmahatyā is annihilated.
Nimajjana—ritual immersion/bathing in Śivatīrtha.
