Listener: Ṛṣis / dvijas / assembled śrotṛs (implied)

Scene: A recitation assembly: a sūta or paurāṇika seated on a vyāsapīṭha, listeners with folded hands; palm-leaf manuscripts; a tīrtha backdrop suggesting Setu/sea-shore sanctity; the atmosphere of blessing and protection from suffering and poverty.

FAQs

Śravaṇa (listening) and pāṭha (recitation) of Purāṇic sacred history are themselves dharma and generate protective merit that removes suffering.

The broader Setukhaṇḍa sacred geography (Setu/Rāma-setu region) is implied, though this verse functions mainly as a general phalaśruti.

Recitation and attentive listening to the sacred narrative (pāṭha and śravaṇa).
