सत्यं ब्रूयात्प्रियं बूयान्न ब्रूयात्सत्यमप्रियम् । प्रियं च नानृतं ब्रूयादेष धर्मो विधीयते
satyaṃ brūyātpriyaṃ būyānna brūyātsatyamapriyam | priyaṃ ca nānṛtaṃ brūyādeṣa dharmo vidhīyate
സത്യം പറയുക, പ്രിയവചനം പറയുക; കടുപ്പമുള്ള അപ്രിയ സത്യം പറയരുത്. അതുപോലെ പ്രിയമായി തോന്നുന്ന അസത്യവും പറയരുത്—ഇതുതന്നെ വിധിക്കപ്പെട്ട ധർമ്മം.
