उदयन्तं न वीक्षेत नास्तं यंतं न मस्तके । न राहुणोपस्पृष्टं च नांडस्थं वीक्षयेद्रविम्
udayantaṃ na vīkṣeta nāstaṃ yaṃtaṃ na mastake | na rāhuṇopaspṛṣṭaṃ ca nāṃḍasthaṃ vīkṣayedravim
ഉദയിക്കുന്ന സൂര്യനെ ഉറ്റുനോക്കരുത്; അസ്തമിക്കുന്ന സൂര്യനെയും അല്ല; തലമുകളിൽ നിൽക്കുന്ന സൂര്യനെയും അല്ല. രാഹുഗ്രസ്തമായ (ഗ്രഹണകാല) സൂര്യനെയോ, വെള്ളത്തിൽ പ്രതിഫലിക്കുന്ന സൂര്യനെയോ കാണരുത്.
