स दत्त्वा दुष्कृतं तस्मै पुण्यमादाय गच्छति । अपि वा शाकदानेन यद्वा तोयप्रदानतः । पूजयेत्तं नरः भक्त्या तेनैवातो विमुच्यते
sa dattvā duṣkṛtaṃ tasmai puṇyamādāya gacchati | api vā śākadānena yadvā toyapradānataḥ | pūjayettaṃ naraḥ bhaktyā tenaivāto vimucyate
അവൻ (അതിഥി) തന്റെ ദുഷ്കൃതം അവിടെ വിട്ടുവെച്ച്, അവരുടെ പുണ്യം എടുത്തുകൊണ്ട് പോകുന്നു. അതിനാൽ മനുഷ്യൻ ഭക്തിയോടെ അതിഥിയെ പൂജിക്കണം—ശാകദാനമായാലും ജലപ്രദാനമായാലും; അതുമാത്രം കൊണ്ടുതന്നെ ഈ ദോഷത്തിൽ നിന്ന് വിമുക്തനാകും.
