Yama
Tirtha: Dharmāraṇya
Type: kshetra
Scene: A serene sacred forest boundary marked by toranas/trees; a departing soul (subtle body) rising in light from a human figure (woman or man) while Śiva’s grace is symbolized as a protective aura; attendants of dharma guide upward.
Purāṇic dharma emphasizes the salvific power of a holy kṣetra, where even the final moment can become a doorway to mokṣa.
Dharmāraṇya, described as Yama’s kṣetra and a place granting śāśvatī mukti.
No formal rite is prescribed; the teaching centers on the kṣetra’s grace at the time of death (prāṇa-tyāga) within its bounds.
