Transliteration

varṣamadhye prakurvīta tathā supte janārddane | pauṣe ca luptaṃ kṛtvā ca śrautaṃ smārttaṃ karoti yaḥ

വർഷകാലത്തിന്റെ മദ്ധ്യത്തിൽ, അല്ലെങ്കിൽ ജനാർദ്ദനൻ (വിഷ്ണു) ശയനകാലത്ത് ഇത്തരകർമ്മങ്ങൾ ചെയ്യുന്നവൻ, കൂടാതെ പൗഷമാസത്തിൽ വ്രതം ലുപ്തമെന്നു കരുതിയും ശ്രൗത-സ്മാർത്ത കർമ്മങ്ങൾ ചെയ്യുന്നവൻ—വിധിവിരുദ്ധനാകുന്നു।
