Vyāsa
Tirtha: Dharmāraṇya (sectional locus)
Type: kshetra
Listener: (implied) Yudhiṣṭhira
Scene: Vyāsa narrates to a royal listener: a vision-like tableau of Rāma overseeing restoration—workers repairing a shrine, re-plastering walls, clearing a tank, while Brāhmaṇas are settled with provisions; a maternal-divine presence (Śrī Mātā) is implied as guiding authority.
Restoring sacred institutions is a dharmic act, especially when done for communal spiritual welfare and in obedience to divine instruction.
Dharmāraṇya is the implied sacred setting where Rāma’s jīrṇoddhāra becomes part of the site’s māhātmya.
Jīrṇoddhāra—renovation of sacred structures—framed as a meritorious duty supporting dvijas and kṣetra-dharma.
