जागृतस्तु तदा काल एकाकी धर्मवत्सलः । अश्रौषीच्च क्षणे तस्मिन्रामो नारीविरोदनम्
jāgṛtastu tadā kāla ekākī dharmavatsalaḥ | aśrauṣīcca kṣaṇe tasminrāmo nārīvirodanam
ആ സമയത്ത് ധർമ്മവത്സലനായ രാമൻ ഏകാകിയായി ജാഗരൂകനായിരുന്നു. അതേ ക്ഷണത്തിൽ ഒരു സ്ത്രീയുടെ കരുണ വിലാപം അദ്ദേഹം കേട്ടു.
