गंगा गंगेति यो ब्रूयाद्योजनानां शतैरपि । मुच्यते सर्वपापेभ्यो विष्णुलोकं स गच्छति
gaṃgā gaṃgeti yo brūyādyojanānāṃ śatairapi | mucyate sarvapāpebhyo viṣṇulokaṃ sa gacchati
നൂറു യോജന ദൂരത്തുനിന്നും “ഗംഗാ, ഗംഗാ” എന്നു ഉച്ചരിക്കുന്നവൻ സർവ്വപാപങ്ങളിൽ നിന്നു മോചിതനായി വിഷ്ണുലോകം പ്രാപിക്കുന്നു.

Gaṅgā is glorified as a river-tīrtha whose very name bestows purification and auspicious destiny.
