prāpto yuddhāya dvādaśyāṃ yāvatkṛṣṇāṃ caturdaśīm | aṣṭādaśadine rāmo rāvaṇaṃ dvairathe'vadhīt

ദ്വാദശി മുതൽ കൃഷ്ണപക്ഷ ചതുര്ദശി വരെ അദ്ദേഹം യുദ്ധത്തിൽ പ്രവേശിച്ചു. അഷ്ടാദശ ദിനത്തിൽ രഥദ്വന്ദ്വയുദ്ധത്തിൽ ശ്രീരാമൻ രാവണനെ വധിച്ചു.
