brahmahatyādipāpānāṃ purāṇeṣu smṛtiṣvapi | prāyaścittāni dṛṣṭāni na śivadravyahāriṇām

ബ്രഹ്മഹത്യാദി പാപങ്ങൾക്ക് പുരാണങ്ങളിലും സ്മൃതികളിലും പ്രായശ്ചിത്തങ്ങൾ കാണപ്പെടുന്നു; എന്നാൽ ശിവദ്രവ്യം ഹരിക്കുന്നവർക്ക് പ്രായശ്ചിത്തം ഒന്നും കാണുന്നില്ല.
