पराशर उवाच । अत्रावाच्यं हि यत्किंचित्कथं शक्तोस्मि शंसितुम् । यच्छ्रुत्वा धृतिमंतोपि विषादं प्राप्नुयुर्जनाः
parāśara uvāca | atrāvācyaṃ hi yatkiṃcitkathaṃ śaktosmi śaṃsitum | yacchrutvā dhṛtimaṃtopi viṣādaṃ prāpnuyurjanāḥ
പരാശരൻ പറഞ്ഞു—ഇവിടെ പറയരുതാത്തൊരു കാര്യമുണ്ട്; അതിനെ ഞാൻ എങ്ങനെ പ്രസ്താവിക്കും? അത് കേട്ടാൽ ധൈര്യവാന്മാരും പോലും വിഷാദത്തിലാഴാം.
