ऋषभ उवाच । अकस्मात्किमहो वत्से रोरवीषि विमूढधीः । को जातः कतमो लोके को मृतो वद सांप्रतम्
ṛṣabha uvāca | akasmātkimaho vatse roravīṣi vimūḍhadhīḥ | ko jātaḥ katamo loke ko mṛto vada sāṃpratam
ഋഷഭൻ പറഞ്ഞു—വത്സേ! എന്തുകൊണ്ട് അപ്രതീക്ഷിതമായി ഇങ്ങനെ നിലവിളിക്കുന്നു, നിന്റെ ബുദ്ധി എന്തുകൊണ്ട് മോഹിതമായി? ഈ ലോകത്തിൽ ആര് ജനിച്ചു, ആര് മരിച്ചു—ഇപ്പോൾ പറയുക.
