Suta Goswami
Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Mahādeva
Significance: General ritual orthopraxy: proper sequence (upacāras culminating in abhiṣeka and naivedya) stabilizes devotion and merit.
Offering: naivedya
It emphasizes disciplined completeness in Shiva-worship: the devotee should follow the prescribed method and seal the abhiṣeka with a sincere food-offering, expressing devotion (bhakti) and reverence to Pati (Shiva).
The verse is practical instruction for Linga-puja: after bathing the Linga (abhiṣeka), the worship culminates in naivedya, treating Shiva in His saguna, worship-receiving form as the Lord who accepts offerings through ritual devotion.
A clear ritual takeaway is: perform abhiṣeka with the proper vessel and conclude by offering naivedya—especially cooked rice—while maintaining a devotional mind, typically alongside mantra-japa such as the Panchakshara (Om Namaḥ Śivāya).
