Commencement of the Satra and the Arrival of Vāyu
vāyuruvāca | atra vaḥ kuśalaṃ viprāḥ kaccidvṛtte mahākratau | kaccidyajñahano daityā na bādheransuradviṣaḥ
Vayu
Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Paśupatinātha
Offering: naivedya
The verse highlights vigilance in dharmic practice: sacred rites must be protected from forces that disrupt order and purity. In a Shaiva reading, external obstacles mirror inner pashas (bondages) that can derail worship unless steadiness and discernment are maintained.
A yajna represents structured, saguna-oriented worship in the world. Asking whether it proceeds without obstruction implies that devotion and ritual discipline must remain intact—conditions under which Shiva’s grace can be steadily invoked and sustained.
The practical takeaway is protective steadiness in worship—maintaining purity, regular recitation (such as the Panchakshara), and disciplined observance so that disruptive influences (outer or inner) do not interrupt sadhana.
