महापातकवर्णनम् (Mahāpātaka-varṇanam) — “Description of Great Sins and Their Consequences”
न ब्रवीति च यः सत्यं न प्रदानं करोति च । अशुचिर्वाऽशुचिस्थाने यः प्रवक्ति शृणोति च
na bravīti ca yaḥ satyaṃ na pradānaṃ karoti ca | aśucirvā'śucisthāne yaḥ pravakti śṛṇoti ca
സത്യം പറയാത്തവനും ദാനം ചെയ്യാത്തവനും; സ്വയം അശുചിയായിരിക്കുകയോ അശുചിസ്ഥലത്ത് പവിത്രകഥ പറയുകയും കേൾക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നവനും—ശിവാചാരത്തിൽ നിന്ന് പതിച്ച് ഉയർന്ന সাধനയ്ക്ക് അയോഗ്യനാകുന്നു।
