तापस श्रूयतां रे त्वं न तपः क्रियते त्वया । वेषतश्च तपस्वी त्वं न यथार्थं छलायते
tāpasa śrūyatāṃ re tvaṃ na tapaḥ kriyate tvayā | veṣataśca tapasvī tvaṃ na yathārthaṃ chalāyate
ഹേ താപസാ, കേൾക്കുക! നീ യഥാർത്ഥത്തിൽ തപസ് ചെയ്യുന്നില്ല. വേഷം കൊണ്ടു മാത്രം നീ തപസ്വിയാകുന്നു; ഉള്ളിൽ നീ കപടത്തിൽ ഏർപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു, സത്യതപസ്സിൽ അല്ല.
